Fullscreen drops to 24fps. PLEASE HELP

Hey there. I have a beast computer that I use for gaming. I play Skyrim, Crysis, ANYTHING at at least 50 fps. So I'm getting extremely frustrated that I can't play Sonic The Hedgehog 2 with any more than 24 fps! I've been having a ton of trouble with Kega Fusion, but it's the best emulator for all Sega games in one, so I really want to get it working correctly. Here's what's happened:

Right from the get-go, whenever I load it up and play a game, it's wonderful. 60 fps, controller works great, all that. Then I try to go fullscreen. It locks up in the corner and freezes for about 10 seconds, until finally an error pops up saying "Direct3d Init Error: #2" and the message is "Unable to set Display Mode". And that's it. Absolutely no fullscreen allowed. So I went into the ini, and changed ForceFullScreen32=0 to ForceFullScreen32=1. Now it goes fullscreen, but will only get UP TO 24pfs (usually between that and 22).

I'm not a complete idiot or anything either. I've tried every combination of settings in the ini file. I've updated graphic drivers and directx and everything, I've looked around here and google and everywhere and CANNOT FIND A WAY TO FIX THIS. Someone please help me with this, it's killing me.

Also,
Windows 8 Consumer Preview (which has nothing to do with it, I promise)

My apologies if this is a topic that's been covered before...

I'm using a two screen setup on my CPU with a 1080 HDTV as my second monitor. I can't seem to get KEGA to go full screen on the second monitor. Keeps telling me it can't match the resolution.

Is this something that can be fixed in the current version of KEGA? Or does anybody know if this is going to be supported in a future release of KEGA?

Would love to enjoy my games on an actual TV!!!

Thank you!

Another Mega-CD troubleshooting thread!

Up until a few weeks ago, I never had any trouble running Mega-CD games in Fusion. Typically I mount an image into Daemon Tools and boot it from there, which gets much better audio sync than when I load a CUE file directly in Fusion.

But sometime in the past few weeks, I began having trouble running games booted from Daemon Tools. The audio gets scratchy and cutscenes skip relentlessly. I've noticed the problem is lessened by increasing the read ahead speed, but even at 8x I'm still getting interference.

I was not having this problem until sometime in the past month. The same image files I was able to run perfectly a few weeks ago no longer read correctly.

Physical CD's still run perfectly, so I'm sure it's nothing in the Fusion settings. I thought it might have been due to an update in Daemon Tools, but even going back to an older version I know used to work produces the same problem.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

I hope to add up to 3 extra LEDs, so would anyone know any points on the board where I can solder 3 LEDs safely, without them getting fried?

Hello all,

I have a few questions that I have tried to find the answer to but I have had no success.

__1.__ If I run a game on Kega Fusion (MAC Build) and make some changes with an in game editor. If I copy my ROM onto a Windows system can I run the game with the same changes that I made earlier? (Am I right in guessing that Kega Fusion creates a 'configuration' file for the game and I would have to copy that over to the Windows version.

__1b.__ If so will the MAC 'configuration' file work with the windows version?

__2.__ I tried to run a Sega CD game (A folder with an ISO and 30 odd mp3 files), with a valid EUR Bio... But after Sega CD intro screen the game does not load. Can somebody help me with this?

For now that is it.

Thank you,

Firstly, thank you for this amazing piece of software. I can't tell you how much fun I've been having since I discovered it. Alarmingly, the same is true of my 58-year-old mother. But anyway!

I was wondering if it's possible to create shortcuts (perhaps with command line parameters/arguments in the target) for individual games which, when run, would simply boot straight into the game without having to manually load the desired ROM into Fusion first. I'm a complete newbie to this, and I couldn't find anything about this in the Read Me or when I searched the forum just now (or when I searched on Google) but if this has been covered already I apologise.

Thank you for your time!

Oh yeah, if it matters I'm using Windows XP (x86) and Windows 7 (x64) with Fusion 3.6 ()

I am using KEGA fusion to test out recording video from a game. I can record everything fine and it will playback fine, however when I try to edit it (in Premiere or After Effects) or even re-encode it (adobe media encoder) there is no video... I'd really like to use this as opposed to camstudio for the superior framerate, but I'm not sure what to do..

There seems to be interference in the FMV footage from Mary Shelly's Frankenstein (U) manifesting itself as horizontal lines in the FMV.
If someone has this game can you please check this. You need fusion 363 as it doesn't boot in 364. Get it from Snake's Fusion page on this site under older versions.

Certain elements are not displayed correctly in Marko (U) screens before and after levels, like the score being lower than it should be. Also the game over screen fucks up in a similar way where parts of the screen show fractured as if character data is not where it should be.

Either I got bad Bin/CUEs or there are bugs. If they are indeed bugs, please report it here so that Snake can fix them. Thx

Mary Shelly's Frankenstein (U) and Rise of the Dragon (U) have been confirmed to not work in 3.64
