An amazing book collection about books for Mega Drive/Genesis, called Mega Drive: Total!

The European publishing Pixel Nation, which has released some very exciting booklets about games, announced a new project that will leave 99% of readers Eidolon's Inn / GagaGames? drooling.



Yes, a book on the Mega Drive would be nice, but ... how about a collection of books about him? Holy shit!

One dreams of Eidolon has come almost true, I just got the second word that a Russian translation of Surging Aura has been released recently (December 2011).
So, I hope it is only a matter of time until an English version follows, so that we all can enjoy one of the last (and reportedly best) Sega Genesis RPGs.

What is implemented:
- All documented / undocumented opcodes.

Anyway... I rewrote the video system. The old code was quick and dirty and really needed a cleanup. The new code also needs a small cleanup, but since I'm still adding features to it, this will be done at a later time. One of those features is pixel shader support. While I'm certainly not familiar with HLSL code, or created any exciting things in HLSL I guess other people can create neat stuff. That's why this shader support is plugin based.

I'm also working on a new audio system. The current subsystem uses DirectSound?, but the new one will be using XAudio2. This audio API really has some cool features like DSP processing and the abillity to create complex audio graphs. Offcourse, I want to embed those features into Triton.. making it possible to have a seperate audio stream for every emulated sound chip, running on their native clockspeed.

So that's it for now. I really need to work towards something I can release.. but because of my limited spare time, I can't give any estimations.

Windows users can download these Render Plugins (Win) - there's not much new here, but they've been fixed and optimised, so you might want to use them instead of the older ones.

You can find the source for these plugins Here should you want them.

To Intel Mac owners: Please do give feedback. Hopefully this works just fine on all variations of Intel Mac, and should work under Tiger or Leopard. But this is my first real Mac app, and needs some testing :) I'll continue to support it if people want it.

Some extra notes - I'll write up some proper docs sometime later:

Currently SegaCD support is via BIN/CUE only, I may add to this, but to be honest, BIN/CUE is the best option anyway.
Netplay is not implemented. I will be adding this, and it should be cross platform compatible.
GameGenie? is not implemented. Again, I will be adding this.
There are a few other options which have been removed because they are useless. All Intel Macs are fast enough to support the highest quality sound, for example, so there is no need for those options.
