The eight different claims give again a good system overview. I´ll explain claim eight a bit further:
"a first memory unit" is the first part of the Sega CD RAM
"a second memory unit" is the second part of the Sega CD RAM
"a first computer system" is the CD CPU which can access the CD-drive, the CD soundchip, the CD graphics chip, both memory units and the gate array unit, running at a sync rate of 1/75-second
"image processing" is the CD graphics chip which can access both memory units
"a second computer system" is the whole Genesis with its 64k of RAM, the VDP with another 64k of RAM, the Yamaha and the PSG, running at a sync rate of 1/60-second. The Genesis can access only one of the memory units.
"controller" means the gate array unit which is used for data exchange between the two memory units to make data exchange between the CD and the Genesis CPU possible.
