This section features useful tools for handling your ROM files and playing back GYM files.

General Tools

File description
GEGC v1.01
Converts Genecyst ->  GenEm savegames and vice versa. Written by myself.
RAMConv v1.0  NEW
Converts between Genecyst, KGen and Megasis SRAM formats.
Ucon v1.41
Converts between certain ROM images formats. Suitable for Genesis and SNES ROMs
Megatool
This tool by dOnot is valuable for examining and modifying ROM images
Segatool v1.02
Helpful tool if you want to create or apply IPS patches to Sega ROMs
PS4 savegame editor
Use this to alter Phantasy Star 4 savegames. Written by myself. This tool still has some bugs, but please don't mail me about it because I don't have time to modify it anymore. If you want the source (Borland Pascal 7.0), you can have it.
GENEDIT v0.32
This is another tool which alters savegames of such games as Phantasy Star IV and Shining Force. Unfortunately it has the same drawback that it accepts GenEM savegames only.
BIN2SMD
Convert binary ROM images to the SMD format. Written by Eidolon.
GROM v0.75 UPDATED
Written by Bart Trzynadlowski. Displays Genesis header information and converts between different file formats.
GoodGen v0.27 NEW
Written by Cowering - This is a very useful tool to keep track of your ROM collection.
Homepage
Genesis Launchtool
This launchtool is very useful if you run the emulators within Win95. This tool offers some other powerful options such as ROM information, conversion and instant IPS patching.

GYM players

GYM2MID v0.51b
Converts GYM sound dumps into MIDI files. You need the Visual Basic runtime DLL for this program (see Microsoft...).
GYMX
A rather good GYM player, unfortunately without DAC support. Homepage: Starshine.
Charles Mac Donald's GYMplay v2.0 UPDATED
The new version of GYMplay now also supports PSG and DAC sounds, hence it is a good choice if you don't want to use WinAMP.
YMAmp v2.0b UPDATED
Just copy the in_gym.dll file into your plugin directory of WinAMP, then restart WinAmp! This plugin plays Genecyst's GYM files as well as Callus's CYM files in a very good quality, on par with GYMX!
SlimGYM
This little utility, written by Flavio, reduces the file size of GYM dumps significantly, in most cases without sacrificing sound quality.
Genesis GYMplay
A ROM file for the Sega Genesis which enables you to listen to GYM soundtracks in the emulators or even on the real machine. Run it in any emulator to get the instructions.
