   Welcome to the Genesis development section of Eidolon's Inn! You will find useful tools and documents on this page which will help you understand the inner workings of the Genesis. If you have further questions, you should ask them in The Tavern - there's some folk around which can help you. Genesis OS ROM NEW
The small OS ROM of the newer Genesis models, displaying "Produced by or under license from Sega Enterprises Ltd."
Sega Checksummer
Tool to compute the Sega-specific checksum of ROMs. Written by Eidolon.
ROM Padder v1.00
Enlarges a binary ROM to a specific mbit value. Written by Eidolon.
Genesis Sprite Editor
This nice utility can be used to alter the sprites in some Genesis games.
Genesis Tile Editor
A Win32 program, written by Flavio, which can be used to edit Genesis 8x8 tiles.
MakeSound
Written by Kaneda, this tool can convert RAW sound samples to ASM files to be used with Genesis ASM compilers.
MakeTile
Written by Kaneda. This tool converts BMP files to ASM files for including with ASM or C code.
BMP2TILE v2.0
Written by Kaneda. This tool converts BMP files to ASM files for including with ASM or C code.
MakeMap
Written by Kaneda. Can be used to convert tile maps which were created with WGT (this tool will be added here soon) to a format usable for Genesis C or ASM programming.
MakeSprite
Written by Kaneda. Converts BMP files to ASM files for including with ASM or C code.
JAS Assembler NEW
Modified by Charles Doty for the Sega Genesis; comes with demo sourcecodes.

680x0 crossassembler for MSDOS
Sozobon C Compiler NEW
Modified by Paul Lee to create Genesis code
X68K NEW
Another 680x0 assembler.
Psy-Q assemblers NEW
Contains 68000 assemblers for the Genesis and Sega CD alongside with some other tools which were once part of a Sega CD development system. Very recommended!
