Review of Dragon Ball Z

DBZ on the Genesis makes for an interesting complement of the SNES
versions.  Graphics and Sound are just plain crappy compared the SNES
Super Butoden's.  But frankly, this game still rates VERY VERY high on
fun.
The computer's intelligence isn't terribly high, (with a few
exceptions), but the game moves so fast, that it gets pretty difficult
anyway.  And there's a "Turbo Mode" as well, making it really hard.
Many of the moves are a lot harder to pull off as you only have three
buttons.  The selection of fighters is very nice...  Goku, Gohan,
Piccolo, Vegeta, Trunks, Frieza, Artificial Human #18, Kulilin, Cell,
Ginew, Recoom.  The power bars charge up quickly, which is another
definite plus.
What I hate about the story battle is it's difficult to follow.
Especially if you choose Goku, in which case, you're just thrown right
into battle after battle.  The nice thing about the story battle is that
you can pick anybody (bad or good) and the order and opponents is
different every way.
Well, the motion is VERY VERY smooth.  Far Better than the SNES.
Energy moves are also much faster and the Megablasts are OK-looking for
the most part.  and FINALLY, you get to do Tien's "Solar Flare!", which
proves to be almost ubiquitous in some cases.  Very often you'll find
yourself winning a match not expecting to.  Playing it in Genecyst,
you'll find the the split screen effect gets a little iffy, but if you
can escape that, it's a great game that should challenge a lot of
people.
