The game

At first sight, Boulder Dash seems to be a very simple game - the only thing you have to do is to collect some diamonds. But the longer you play it and the more levels you play, the more difficult the game becomes, as new game elements (like the amoeba, the butterflies or the quadrants) appear. The original C64 version of the game is the best, mainly because of the super-soft scrolling which makes playing it absolutely smooth.

Two official sequels (BD II and III) and MANY, MANY fan-productions were released during the years after 1985. The "Boulder Dash Construction Kit" was a huge success - with it, everyone could create his/her own diamond-and-trap-filled caves.

There´s not much more to tell about this game, expect that everyone should have played it. :-)
